Ropivacaine - (a neuromuscular blocker that is a pure esther which affords less cardiac and entral nervous system toxicity). This is used for intercostal nerve block at the end of the case mixed with DepoMedrol as an anti-inflammatory agent. This minimizes postop discomfort.
